Our Livestream Story

Our livestreaming of Mass began early during the COVID pandemic. At that time we used FaceBook because it was quick and easy to set up, and we were able to use the parish FaceBook page. Some of you remember the Mass coming from the little chapel on the third floor of the St. Paul rectory. You may not have known that we just barely pulled that off with our wifi and Fr. Mike Kennedy's Nook tablet!

Upon returning to the church we continued to livestream, and quickly ran into issues (e.g. streaming with a microphone, streaming "too much" for FaceBook's institutional policies) and switched to a more permanent solution. Thanks to our Altar Rosary Society and others who funded the required equipment. We selected StreamSpot, an organization that specializes in streaming for houses of worship, and which provides much better support for what we're doing. Unfortunately, in that change we lost the FaceBook "chat" capability which many of our streamers used to connect with each other and provide feedback during Mass.
